About Sequart.com
Sequart.com is a massive website devoted to the sophisticated study of comic books.
It features regular columns -- including reviews and news -- as well as articles, annotations, chronologies, and interviews.
It also prominently features The Continuity Pages, a massive hyperlinked study of comic books by family rather than by title.
"Sequart" refers to the medium variously known as comic books, graphic novels, sequential art, the ninth art, manga, and bandes-dessinés.
The term is meant to distinguish the medium itself from particular formats or incarnations thereof -- and to do so without pejorative or being composed of other terms.
The term was first used by Julian Darius around 2000 and first articulated in his essay "The Sequart Manifesto" in 2003.
Sequart.com is interested in your submissions, particularly of articles and interviews.
Sequart.com does not generate a profit and relies on donations and other means of support.
The site is expected to receive over half a million visitors in 2004.
