Gifts of the Night A four-issue mini-series, featuring beautiful painted art by John Bolton, published monthly by DC / Vertigo.

The World Below began as a four-issue series, published by Dark Horse Comics in the first half of 1999. Paul Chadwick wrote and pencilled each issue, with Ron Randall providing the inks. Intended to be in the style of the early Marvel Comics, which had imaginative stories and twenty pages of art, Chadwick had his characters journey into an underground world full of strange beings. Despite the high quality, sales were quite poor. What was intended as an ongoing series lasted only four issues. Dark Horse Comics later published a four-issue mini-series, subtitled Deeper and Stranger, this time in black and white to save on costs.
