Geoff Johns Series (2003-Present)
In 2003, in the wake of Titans / Young Justice: Graduation Day, DC launched two new, paired series: Teen Titans and The Outsiders. Written by Geoff Johns, then popular for his work on JSA and Marvel's Avengers, the revived series proved a surprisingly strong hit, with many multiple printings of the earliest issues. The team's initial membership looked more like Young Justice than Titans, including Young Justice's Robin (Timothy Drake), the new Kid Flash (formerly Impulse), the new Wonder Girl, and Superboy. These were combined with classic Titans characters Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and a revamped Raven. The series was perhaps boosted by Cartoon Network's animated series Teen Titans, then recently launched in the wake of its successful Justice League.
