Marv Wolfman Era, Part 3 (1988-1992)
In late 1988, as George Pérez returned to the title with #50, the "Teen" in New Teen Titans was dropped and the title became simply New Titans. The decision made a great deal of sense: Robin had become Nightwing years earlier, Kid Flash had become Flash, and even Wonder Girl had become Troia.
In 1989, an ongoing Hawk and Dove series was launched. It lasted until 1991, when the protagonists were eliminated or transformed in the wake of Armaggeddon 2001, DC's crossover event running through the 1991 annuals.
Almost simultaneously with Hawk and Dove's cancellation came the launch of another ongoing: Deathstroke, the Terminator.
