The whole Titans line was reconstituted in the wake of DC's 1994 Zero
Hour crossover. New Titans got a new team and a new direction, complete with stars
like
Green Lantern and
Supergirl, designed to boost sales.
Deathstroke, the Terminator became Deathstroke, the Hunted for half a year and
then became simply Deathstroke. Team Titans was cancelled. Ancilliary titles
Anima, Damage, and Gunfire -- all newly launched -- continued as normal. As 1995 came to an end, so did New Titans. In its various
incarnations (including the series it replaced), the title had continued uninterrupted for over
fifteen years, always with Marv Wolfman at the helm. An era had come to an end, and it did so
quietly.
